Suffering from writer's wistfulness
I wish I were a Writer's Guild of America writer. Do you know how influential you can be? Imagine this, you write the dialogue in a drama, the drama of which is produced in a country which monopolizes the world's media? Essentially, you write for the world. And, you write for the hottest dramas like Heroes. Or, you write for 'the next big thing', like Gossip Girl. Or, you write for a culture-in-the-making. Or a new catchaphrase. Summarily, you are in the heart of popular culture, as it constantly evolves or is being maintained. How hot is that? Also, you get to work with like-minded people, and bounce ideas and lines off each other in the office everyday. It's like playing a game of 'continue-the-story-in-one-line'. Screw dreaming of writing a novel. I rather write short stories which actually get played out.
