I was seating on the third row! Those darn photographers occupied all the first rows. It's so dumb. And some jap girls somewhere behind me were screaming, no, rather screeching, 'Orlii!, Orlllli!'
PS: I heard that Johnny Depp was actually staying at the same hotel as us!! At the Tokyo Hotel New Otani. I so thought I could catch him at breakfast or something...sigh
The pictures above were taken when they were on stage, after they did the rounds at the red carpet. Look at how Johnny the man is running the show! haha! What is Gore doing, I don't know. But he is a very playful guy.

What started not-so-great ended very satisfactory!
In the morning, was supposed to catch the first Sentosa Express train with MK. But she smsed me at 2.30am saying she was sick and wanted to go to a polyclinic first. I read her msg at 5am and tried calling her many times! No response!!
Went to L's house to give her her belated birthday present cum stress reliever kit...and watched MTV,haha! I caught Good Charlotte's latest video, The River....they are so gothic and angsty man! but the music's great and saw Lily Allen's Alfie music video...that girl is so cute and tongue-in-cheeky :)
Woo, so nice to vist dear L's house so early in the morning....her house is bright and cheery, and bustling too, lolz, her mum and cousin was awake. and i learnt my diarrhoea may be inter-related to my bloody hacking spastic cough! It's so spastic now at night, must be cuz of exhaustion....it's already 12.15am here.
L, listen to the Jason Mraz and Avril Lavigne CD I burned for you ok? :):):)
So I then took a cab to Sentosa, Palawan beach, thirteen dollars, from Clementi, and extra $2 peak hour! I didn't wanna be late cuz of MK, I wanted to be first in queue! The driver was supposedly a Malay, from his ID hanging on the windscreen but he had white patchy skin and a very broken husky voice, but he was very nice, talking about Sentosa and being patient when I gave him the wrong direction of Palawan beach:S WTF, Underwater world and dolphin lagoon are at 2 completely different beaches!
I read 8 days and Neil Humphrey at a bench at the 'islet in the Southernmost point of SEA', with waves crashing behind me....saw a squirrel, half blue bird, baby monitor lizard, and a white fish do a dolphin jump in the sea. I saw it when I happened to look up from reading! I took it as a good sign....it's a ghost town in Sentosa so early in the morning, it was scary for a girl, but surreal and kinda nice!
Rained twice, sat miserably on the 2nd floor in one of the towers...couldn't play frisbee or vietnam chapteh which I brought...miserable weather. Nearly got hit by killer litter at the tower...someone dropped a filled Nescafe can, from the top floor, nearly missing my darn head!
We (my team) thought we had it all planned out, giving our answers differently (in case I was wrong), me, MK and Fel. but i tell u, MK is such a smart girl!! hahahaa She gave the same answer as me and only 3 people qualified for the 'treasure hunt'! They tricked us, we thought we were looking for a bagful of coins but instead had to look for buried badges, darn it!
--yo MK, that bird shit worked didn't it...hahaha! Touchwood somemore! Bird shit is your lucky charm! lolll
Anyway, 2 against 1, the odds were against that poor, middle-aged woman. Tokyo, here we come! ahhhhh!! Johnny Depp, here I come!! Pirates of the Caribbean 2: At World's End Tokyo premiere, May 23rd. POTC:3, here. we. come.!
We'll be in Japan May 21st-24th!
Now, hope menses don't come and I can cure this fucking cough! Argh...i don't want yet another sleepless night battling this fucking dry throat!! :P
PS: I so had my Gala premiere dress planned the other day, while I was tidying my wadrobe. I thought, heck! If i can live the dream, why not?? I was feeling quite down, but being dressed up in a pretty dress sure perked me up! So I decided there and then, I'll just take my chances and I have nothing to lose! I'll take part in the contest!! so true! Look where I am at now!
PPS: If you don't try, if you don't make an effort, you will get nothing!
PPPS: Don't envy all my winnings of concert/movie/award tickets, backstage passes and CDs, go for it!
PPPPS: I'm gonna go to the Doc's tomorrow abt my throat and diarrhoea and collect my Beyonce Deluxe Edition CD from Power 98fm's office/studio. (DJ Harry is so kind! He has such a Ryan Seacrest-ish voice *whispers* and he's tall dark and handsome:)I've seen him, haha)
PPPPPS: Gonna lend MK my precious POTC1 DVD and gonna rent POTC2 VCD!!!!
Been recuperating at home...not doing anything much really...haiz. Well, been reading Marvel comics that my lil bro borrowed from the library, been playing Yahoo! computer games like Cake Mania, Diner dash-flo on the go, Chicken Chase and Scrabble.
Watched Spider-man 3 yesterday. I say watch the movie for Kirsten Dunst. She's such a cutie in the movie. I've been a fan of hers from young. And her acting has improved immensely! I love her facial expressions. Anyway, the movie doesn't have much action.
I'm gonna plan more for my 'schedule' in the upcoming week.
Seriously, I feel like life doesn't have any meaning if I don't finish reading the bible ASAP. Like, nothing seems more important than knowing what God expects from me and enriching my knowledge with what He wants and loves. It's like an insurmountable task, seeing as how a day passes so quickly and like thinking constantly to myself, do I really just want to finish reading the bible only?? and doing nothing else? I hate time. It's so restricting. But God made day and night. haha.
Ah well, this quote gets me through, from Choo Thomas's book: "Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people." Amen to that.
Do visit her website, it may even change your life: http://www.choothomas.com
Days really pass by in a blur when you are sick. No actually, time seems to stand still, becuz you're not doing anything much, and every passing hour seems to be the same as the next. You only know time is passing because the clock tells you so and becuz your favourite TV show is airing at those certain hours.
It's amazing how your plans are totally put on hold. How one becomes subject to the body. How, one can only religiously take her medicine (panadol), rest in bed, knowing it's essential to get plenty of rest, and pass the day just like that. No, praying more than usual too.
How one has no appetite and strength to do anything else. As a result, i have a little gastric problem now, with abdominal pains at certain times and my bowels are unsteaadyy! I was down with fever, chills, aches and a painful sore throat where phlegm gathered at night when I'm in bed.
Anyways, my mum was sick too! And i learnt that, I haven't learnt how to make porridge, how to make coffee, as in how many tablespoons of coffee powder, cream and sugar I have to add in, and how long it takes to submerge a brand's essence chicken bottle in hot water to let it turn out just rightly warm, fragrant and nice to drink. I don't feel hopeless, just more aware. I know that it's cuz I was ignorant before. But once my mum and I feel better, I'll make up for my ignorances! :)
Well, I just think it's hilarious that people fall sick, you know? I mean, We've come such a long way and we still can't prevent simple illnesses to not get to us, illnesses like fever, cold and flus...you know what I mean?
Well, life is slowing getting back to normal and I'm starting to get back more control in life, it's good, but now i begin to realise what are the more important things I have to do during my hols :)I wanted to accompish so many things during my hols, but now it's been reduced cuz I see that some things have to be put with a priority first over others, the first of which is reading a bit of the bible every day:) yes, better get through the bible now than never, haha
Today was a long day. But I immensely enjoyed myself. The build-up over the past few days, being caught up in the thick of exams and all, culminated to this day! Yeah, it indeed seemed to end with a big Bang metaphorically. Right now, as I’m typing this, I’m like chilling in the moment, plugged in to Jason Mraz music in headphones attached to my laptop, with the first song playing, No Stopping Us (it’s as expected, an AMAZING chill-y song. He freely rolls his tongue and scats in the song). Lalalala life is indeed wonderful right now.
So I woke up at 5am this morning. The earliest in a long time. I was determined not to treat my last 2 papers today so lightly. I had really mugged the whole day yesterday, how ironic, it was May 1, Labour Day till midnight. And this morning, I mugged some more, for another 2 more hours. Till 7.15am. I had an ominous feeling that Italy would come up in the exam question, together with Germany. However, it was too late to learn anything more, I only just had time to look through all the notes I had done in the past 2 days, in 2 hours. Nothing more, nothing less. I just had to make do with some quick recalling on Italy, after all, I was just tested on it in class 2, 3 weeks ago. I did not want my brain to be overloaded with new information and fail on me at the last minute. :):)
Before I left the house, I hung around the toilet for a while, trying to pass motion. Cuz I haven’t for the past 2 days, been drinking Vitagen, trying to cure my ever-frequent diarrhoea. Finally, one plop! And I was good to go at 8am. Lolz, with my mum nagging behind my back. I’m already old enough to manage my time man! When I reached the venue just a little before 9am, I saw that the students were already seated. I had arrived just at the right moment. Thank God. I did the paper somewhat smoothly. It was really the best I could. Then soon after, I also did another paper at 1pm. Now that was really stressful! I thought it would be easy-peasy, as my teacher had told us we could easily pass the paper merely by reading our lecture notes and it was an ‘open-book’ exam. So how difficult could it be? Well, the questions were tricky! And we had to answer each questions in 5 lines, in 60 words. And that is not easy at all! None of my answers kept to the 5-lines limit. Haha! I hope it’s ok. It should be ok, cuz I really can’t see how I can answer the questions any more concisely and comprehensively than I did. Furthermore, most of the questions referred to our newspaper articles handouts and this made me really kancheong, cuz that, with my notes, made my small little exam table really messy and I felt constrained by the small space. I was also racing against time, cuz like I said, we had to answer the questions concisely and to do that, we had to take time to carefully think of our answers. My heart was literally palpitating rapidly because of my anxiety of the time limit. My body was at the height of its flight-or-fight mode man! Anyhows, I managed to answer all the questions satisfactorily (to me at least). I was mega relieved after the paper was over, my 2nd-semester exams were well and truly over!
I think I was in a daze. I really felt like my situation was surreal, bizarre, unreal. Because I have 3 months of holidays in front of me baby! Haha! I was still so disoriented to nearly-accidentally enter the Gents! I was busy texting my friend and just walked to the nearest door at the corner where the toilets were located. The toilets are situated in a corner and such that the toilets for the 2 genders are alternately located on each floor. So the Gents was on the floor of the main entrance of the library. I was looking at my phone, texting, and just about to push the door when it was opened on the other side and I found myself face-to-face with a…guy! Our gazes locked for quite a few seconds. It was so funny! I was doubly confused cuz I was trying to rationalize that he could be a girl cuz his look and hair was androgynous, but I saw that his dressing was metrosexual as I turned my gaze from his face to his clothes and then, to…the…picture on the door. And then I turned back to look at him. I just froze on the spot. I didn’t know why I was so confused at that time. Then the guy snapped out of his shock and pointed his finger towards the ceiling, signaling that the Ladies was above. I mumbled ‘sorry’ and quickly scrrramed! Man, I hope I don’t see him again. Or don’t see him in a long time, which is likely, as the holidays are heeere! I am such a dork. Can’t blame me, as I’m going through the effects of Post-Exams.
Later on went to JP and met up with Esther, one of my module mates. Hi Esther! Ate at KFC and hear it first here, from me, the Cheese Melts is a big disappointment. It’s crap. It’s dry and paltry, totally un-filling and somewhat of a turn-off. But the ambience of KFC at JP is nice! They had glowing red-lanterns hanging from the ceiling, comfy booth seats, mosaic walls at the wash-up area and the sink was like that of a hotel, big and bowl-like. And to top it off, my friend thought that they were playing the KFC theme song or something. No, KFC doesn’t have any cheesy theme song, (their commercials are cheesy enough but not their Melts), it was just KT Tunstall’s Suddenly I See song, which my friend heard as “KFC…singsing…KFC” when it was yes, “suddenly I see”. Then we went around looking for a prezzie for a certain someone but I couldn’t find anything suitable and besides, I didn’t trust my own sole judgement of a ‘suitable prezzie’ for that certain someone. I bought 3 badges though. It’s so funny. I had intended to buy only 2, each costs $2 and the seller told me I could buy one more for $5 in total. Naturally, I chose the last badge which had a bible verse printed on it! This was the first time I saw badges with bible verses on them. I didn’t chose any of those badges because the designs were very simple. One verse really attracted me, but I thought $2 was not worth the design so I decided to purchase the 2 others first: a very nice (Rolling) Stones tongue badge and the other badge was a rainbow-coloured one with the words ‘Keep in Touch’. So when the person told me of the ‘discount’, 3 for $5, I chose that badge with the bible verse “My soul shall be joyful in the Lord, it shall rejoice in His salvation. -Psalm 25:9”. This verse especially caught my eye because I’m reading some books on spirituality right now, which talks about our body, soul and spirit :) More to come on those. These books are going to set the tone for my next few blog entries. There was also one very funny badge which me and my friend couldn’t help laughing over, this line was printed on it “The Only Bush I like is my Own.” Go figure the joke yourself. :P
My poor friend kept sneezing today, I hope she gets well soon! We all have plenty of time to recuperate and get much-needed rest now that our exams are over!
I went home and watched American Idol, they covered Bon Jovi songs! I always thought he was a good-looking and a lively rock singer! I think that whiny Justin-timberlake poser(what’s-his-name) and Jordin will be out tomorrow night. I fully support the 17-yr old Jordin and even think she will clinch the AI title this season but her performance was the poorest tonight and since 2 contestants have to go this week, I predict their departure. I can only cross my fingers and hope America will make the right choice! I’m not a supporter of that bald guy and I want him to be out but he really did give the 2nd best performance tonight. The best performance was the shortie, darn, her name eludes me, though it’s at the tip of my tongue, the last performer. Lakisha may be out too. She is really like Jennifer Hudson in so many ways. I don’t know, AI results are always mostly unpredictable. I watched an old Avril Lavigne concert DVD after that. Man, she can really sing and though she don’t really have much showmanship, she still looks cool, standing on stage and letting her voice do the talking. Besides, most male rock stars out there also stand around a lot. The only difference is that they have guitars. I’ve liked Avril from day 1 and like her all the more now. She is not a girly girl, not pretentious, which I really like. :) go watch the DVD and you’ll know what I mean!
Well, it’s already 2.10am here, time to sign off. Good night all, what an eventful and enjoyable day it was!
PS: I wanna say a big thank-you to Brands Essence Chicken. I’m quite sure you’re the reason why I did not fall sick this time! May we have many more good times to come.
