The moral of an illness is...
Days really pass by in a blur when you are sick. No actually, time seems to stand still, becuz you're not doing anything much, and every passing hour seems to be the same as the next. You only know time is passing because the clock tells you so and becuz your favourite TV show is airing at those certain hours.
It's amazing how your plans are totally put on hold. How one becomes subject to the body. How, one can only religiously take her medicine (panadol), rest in bed, knowing it's essential to get plenty of rest, and pass the day just like that. No, praying more than usual too.
How one has no appetite and strength to do anything else. As a result, i have a little gastric problem now, with abdominal pains at certain times and my bowels are unsteaadyy! I was down with fever, chills, aches and a painful sore throat where phlegm gathered at night when I'm in bed.
Anyways, my mum was sick too!
And i learnt that, I haven't learnt how to make porridge, how to make coffee, as in how many tablespoons of coffee powder, cream and sugar I have to add in,
and how long it takes to submerge a brand's essence chicken bottle in hot water to let it turn out just rightly warm, fragrant and nice to drink. I don't feel hopeless, just more aware. I know that it's cuz I was ignorant before. But once my mum and I feel better, I'll make up for my ignorances! :)
Well, I just think it's hilarious that people fall sick, you know? I mean, We've come such a long way and we still can't prevent simple illnesses to not get to us, illnesses like fever, cold and flus...you know what I mean?
Well, life is slowing getting back to normal and I'm starting to get back more control in life, it's good, but now i begin to realise what are the more important things I have to do during my hols :)I wanted to accompish so many things during my hols, but now it's been reduced cuz I see that some things have to be put with a priority first over others, the first of which is reading a bit of the bible every day:) yes, better get through the bible now than never, haha
God bless!
