Robyn showcase
I won 6 passes to Swedish pop singer, Robyn's showcase tomorrow night at Velvet Underground club:) and i only found out this afternoon (I had only expected 2). I was excited to go because I heard her interview on radio and she says her gigs are usually very high energy. and it is! Check out the videos below, from Youtube.
Robyn's debut album was actually in the US Billboard top 10 charts when she was 16. and her single, With Every Heartbeat, is now a UK no. 1 single. She sounds like Madonna-meets-Cyndi-Lauper (I feel). and she has just set up her own record label, Konnichiwa Record at the age of 25, after leaving Jive records(who signed up Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, N'Sync) due to creative differences.
PS: How did I win the tix? On radio. I just had to recommend something (music, movie, eatery, etc), so I recommended the Korean restaurant which was 2 blog entries ago, and I told the DJ I really hope I could win, and she let me win (she had to pick from a few others). hehe!
